Quick capture from the Mac menu bar
Jot a note from anywhere on your Mac, and keep it floating over a video call.
The Mac app includes a small capture window in your menu bar. Type a note, save it, and it’s on your phone a moment later.
Open it
- Click the RIFT icon in the menu bar, or
- Press ⌘⇧N from any app. The first time, macOS will ask you to allow Accessibility access for the shortcut.
RIFT Notes needs to be running for the menu bar icon to appear.
Save
Click SAVE, or press Return three times. Esc closes it without saving.
Keep it on top
Two buttons in the window’s header help during calls and meetings:
- PIN keeps the window above your other windows, even when you click away.
- FADE makes it see-through, stepping from 100% to 90%, 75%, and 50%, so you can take notes over a video call.
Right-click the menu bar icon to open the full app or quit.
Desktop quick capture is part of the Mac Powerpack.
