Frequently Asked Questions
Android version?
Sorry, no. RIFT will never come to Android.
It's not because we don't want to support Android, it's that Google does not offer a way to sync your notes and files without us having to host them on servers we control which would give us access to your notes.
Windows version?
Sorry, no Windows is planned. RIFT uses many apple-specific technologies.
Web version?
...maybe? It is possible to make a version of RIFT that loads your notes directly from Apple once you've signed in with your Apple ID. We'll see what demand is like. This would present risks to your data if you were to leave RIFT signed-in on a public computer.
Will RIFT Notes update to Liquid Glass?
No, RIFT is designed around a classic computing vibe and will stick to its retro look and feel.
Is it really pay once?
Yes! RIFT was built with the idea that its core features live on your device or Apple's iCloud servers. This allows us to charge once.
Where do my notes live?
On your device and in your iCloud Drive if you've purchased Powerpack. Nothing routes through our servers. We can't read your notes.
What if I want to leave?
Free Version
Open settings and select EXPORT ALL NOTES to share a .zip file of your content.
Powerpack Purchased
Open the RIFT Notes iCloud folder. Your notes, images, and audio are waiting for you. Drag them anywhere. No export step, no proprietary lock-in.
Does it use AI? Will you train on my data?
RIFT uses local in-device models (Apple's and Whisper) to transcribe your voice. These run completely on your device.
Your data is never shared, sold, we don't have access to it at all, and therefore you don't have to worry about it being used in any way for ad targeting, AI training or other less-than-ideal uses.
